Internet World organiser Penton Media Europe calls itself the first major UK media owner to release a B2B podcast. Two podcasts are planned. The weekly one will be an informal chat with industry luminaries and opinions on current issues. There will also be a ‘SeminarCast’ featuring exclusive content from the Internet World exhibition. Penton Media Europe's eMedia Manager, Damian Jennings said 'I am really proud to bring the UK's internet community the first mainstream B2B podcast with a brand like Internet World. It's a chance for a trade show to be actually seen to be at the forefront of technology and at the same time provide genuinely useful content.’ The test podcast available at www.internetworldblog.co.uk features an interview with the founder of start-up txtfo.com, Amir Ahmed, about a zero-spam SMS information service launching at this year's Internet World (June 14-16, Earls Court 2). There are 100 hours of free seminars this year at Internet World and this will be featured in forthcoming episodes, in 30-minute MP3s of the very best seminar content. A few highlights are: Oracle, The Butler Group, The Royal Bank of Scotland, RiM, Macmillan, Deloitte, ICI, Daimler Chrysler and Target Marketing’s Jim Sterne. The blog will be updated regularly from the show floor and the 'sight-seeing' podcasts will be recorded, edited and uploaded live from the exhibition hall itself. CommentsThanks so much for runing the release. Appreciated. One thing. You say that we are callin gourselves the first major media owner in the UK to release a B2B podcast. Do you know of any others? I am keen to be accurate and I looked very hard and couldn't find one! Posted by: Damian Jennings at May 27, 2005 09:32 AM Damian We can't verify the statement, so it's appropriate for us to attribute it to Penton Media Europe. Posted by: jlewin I see. :) Seems fair. I wonder who could verify it? Adam Curry? Dave Winer? :) Best Damian Posted by: Damian Jennings at May 30, 2005 11:00 AM Post a comment |
