Nyko "iTop" Device Puts Buttons Atop iPod

May 07, 2005

iTopiPod.jpgNyko Technologies has come out with the iTop button relocator, for iPod users who tire of having to look at the face of their iPod to adjust settings and change songs.

The iTop device snaps on to the top of the iPod (hence the name), and relocates the standard play, fast-forward, rewind and volume controls to tactile buttons -- allowing users to keep the music player snug in a pocket or bag. The iTop requires no batteries, and fits any iPod 10GB and up.

Each button is assigned a unique texture so that users can recognize the controls by touch. The iTop is designed for all full size iPods. Nyko’s accessory is white and metal, matching the iPod aesthetic.

“Nyko’s always on the lookout for ways to enhance the experience of digital entertainment,” said Susan Corben, vice president of marketing, Nyko Technologies. “With the iTop, iPod-lovers can access their music easily”

Nyko’s iTop for the iPod retails for $29.99 and is available at all major retail outlets and consumer electronics stores.
