Twin-Cities Podcaster Wants You to Wake Up to a Drag Queen

May 09, 2005

wanda_wisdom.jpgPodcasting drag queen Wanda Wisdom has launched "a major offensive against world tardiness", offering listeners a personalized wakeup call.

Wanda Wisdom, the drag queen personality behind the Lucky Bitch Radio podcast, has announce her intent to offer listeners a personalized wakeup call. By waking listeners out of a sound sleep, the podcaster hopes to "ensure listeners are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for her daily radio show."

"A lot of my listeners are slackers and computer geeks who stay up way too late looking at inappropriate things on the Internets," notes the six-foot-two Minneapolis drag queen. "If they lose their jobs and end up on the street, I'll lose my audience. The way I see it, this whole wakeup call thing is a real win-win."

Beginning Monday, May 9, listeners can fill out an online request form for a free wakeup call. The first round of wakeup calls will take place Tuesday, May 31. Depending on the success of the event, additional dates may be added.

Participation in this event is free and open to anyone who visits the site and fills out a request form.
