Limbaugh added in a transcript on his Rush 24/7 site: Jobs did a little bit on podcasting to 3,000 people out there in some hotel in San Francisco. He talked about podcasting and how everybody is doing it. He said, "Even the professionals are doing it." Even the professionals. A big list of professionals went up there on the screen behind him on the stage, giant, giant projection screen, and there was one name of one individual involved in podcasting, and it was mine. Jobs made one mistake. He made one mistake. "Podcasting is the hottest thing in radio." That's not the way to put this. I am the hottest thing in podcasting. This program is the hottest thing in podcasting. Podcasting is not the hottest thing in radio. This is the hottest thing in radio and this is the hottest thing in podcasting, but people that are not in this business and still learning about it, will eventually have the truth come their way." CommentsFat idiot. Go choke on a ham sandwich you dumb pig. Posted by: johnny the boy at June 8, 2005 10:59 AM Wrong. He meant to say that he's the biggest drug addict hippocrite in podcasting. Posted by: Madge Weinstein at June 8, 2005 12:36 PM At least the guy is humble.... Posted by: franz at June 8, 2005 01:27 PM Does anyone know what Derek Zoolander thinks right now ? Rush Limbaugh is 'sooo hot right now' Posted by: Ben Barren at June 9, 2005 08:06 AM Any way you slice it, he's doubtlessly getting more hits than any other podcaster. He's probably got the top 50 podcasts combined dwarfed. And he did it without the ad hominem attacks the skinny and sober commenters here like to use. Wait a second, Rush hasn't been fat in more than five years. So the name calling isn't even current. Sheesh Posted by: Augie De Blieck Jr. at June 9, 2005 12:56 PM Augie Maybe he is the "the hottest thing in podcasting" - but how would you know, since his feed is private and he's hiding the details? What we do know is that he's a self-aggrandizing pompous blow-hard that glorifies smoking when he's not abusing prescription medications. At least he's not writing children's books, like that sexual-harassing, settle-out-of-court-for-millions-to-save-my-career phone-sex pervert Bill O'Reilly. It's too bad the best that conservatives can come up with a drug addict and a pervert. What's really sad is how many people get into the sick hate that they purvey. Ugh! Posted by: Natorious at June 9, 2005 06:11 PM Come on now. Could you really expect Rush to say anything else than what he said? Maybe it would be good for all podcasters to think they're the hottest thing in podcasting. From now on, if you ask me, I'll tell you that I'm the hottest thing in podcasting. Posted by: Rich Pav at June 10, 2005 12:40 AM Oh gosh -- I'm soooo offended and angry that a radio personality is promoting himself with exaggerated boasting! Why can't he be faux humble and meek and feel guilt about himself like we modest (but clearly morally/intellectually superior) lefties? Posted by: Conor at June 11, 2005 08:15 AM My guess is that anybody calling themselves "the hottest thing in podcasting" when they don't have a public podcast and have only been doing it for three days would trigger a gag reflex from many podcasters. Posted by: jlewin Isn't it sad that his critics (liberals that won't call themselves liberal)can't find humor in life? The truth is he is doing more podcasts than hundreds of others combined. I bet Al Franken would love some attention he didn't have to pay for. From a conservative that feels you deserve what you are willing to work for in life. Posted by: greenlid at June 12, 2005 11:16 AM Humor. A lost art. Posted by: joe blow at June 13, 2005 02:47 PM Rush podcasting? No - all he is doing is making his daily radio show available in mp3 format via and RSS feed that only those that are willing to pay for it can get to. Is this truely podcasting? Rebroadcasting an existing show in another medium? Well, maybe... As for those that blast him in the comments above, you give him way too much credibility for being a serious newsman. Rush is an entertainer. Either you like his brand of entertainment and listen or your don't and you move on to the next radio station. At least you still have the option to do the same thing with his (or any other) podcast. Actually, you have to pay to listen to what you could get for free over the air waves or through a radio stream... Posted by: Hobie at June 13, 2005 06:59 PM He's no more of a podcaster than he is a webcaster. All he's doing is simply using podcasting to feed his "show" to his faithful disciples whome he calls "listeners". What's even worse is that he and his followers have got the rest of this country who are just flat out disgusted with Washingotn (and have been for the last several years!) HAMSTRUNG into believing it's either THE REPUBLICAN WAY OR THE HIGHWAY!!! And the fact they appeal to the Godcasters amongst us is also quite ironic since they have a junkie (Limbaugh himself) and a sex pervert (Bill O'Reilly) on their side. Or is the sex pervert really PAT O'BRIEN?? Oh yeah....One more thing. They're also quick to use the "un" word (e.g. UNAMERICAN) too. Hmmmm....And to think that we're actually supposed to take these people SERIOUSLY. THAT is the SCARY part of it all. :( *shudder* Posted by: Pat Cook (Pat's Podcast) Unamerican? How come I always hear that from the left. I hear them telling those who will listen that I can't stop saying it. Or accusing people of being unamerican. Or unpatriotic. All cause some pencil pusher decided the "patriot act" is what that thing should be called. Now for years we have to hear how we are accusing people of being unamerican! ugh!
