PodOmatic Launches Free Podcasting Service

September 16, 2005

podomatic_logo.gifPodOmatic.com has launched a new podcasting site that lets users create, mix, host, search, share, and download podcasts. The site provides up to 250mb of free podcast hosting.

The site offers PodMail, for recording and mixing MP3 audio and mailing it to a PC or iPod; PodAmigo, a podcast client; and AutoCatcher, a tool for searching for and downloading podcasts based on keyword searches.

Features:

  • PodOmatic provides ready-made music "beds" for incorporation into podcasts.
  • PodMail incorporates flash recording and webmail to let users record podcasts and send them to a PC, iPod or others.
  • podAmigo is podcast client, supporting Windows and Mac. PodAmigo generates playlists for both iTunes and Windows Media, offers one-click podcast subscriptions, and supports BitTorrent technology.
  • AutoCatcher automatically searches for and downloads podcasts based upon saved keyword searches.

"Our objective in designing podAmigo was to complement existing media players such as iTunes and Windows Media, and provide ease of use without compromising power of choice," explains Jonathan Kolyer, VP of Client Software at podOmatic.

"We are especially proud of podMail; where you can quickly mix music and your voice and send a personalized message right into your friends and family's iPod or mp3 player, how cool is that!" Says Johnny Mansour, co-founder of podOmatic.com. "We are really looking forward to all the different ways people will use podMail; teachers will now be able to easily share lectures with their students, project managers can share the last team meeting with remote team members nine time-zones away, party-goers can now listen to the beats for next weekends club announcements or a G.I stationed in Iraq can hear his kids sing him happy birthday, the possibilities are almost limitless."
