Apple Shipping 100 nanos a Day, Considering 1 Gig Model
December 21, 2005
Apple Computer is building and shipping 100,000 of the ultra-slim iPod nano digital music players each day, according to a report by AppleInsider. Apple is reported to be upping production in order to meet demand.
Apple is also reportedly considering a 1 Gig nano, which would essentially have the same specs as the 2 Gig nano, except with half the memory.
Sources suggest that a target price of about $149 would be needed to make the model attractive to buyers.
"$149 for a 1 GB nano sounds economically feasible and may in fact be very profitable," according to one Wall Street analyst.
