Users can create an account online, and then dial into their Gabcast account from any phone in the world, record an episode, and then people all over the globe can listen. Individuals in the United States can dial 1.800.749.0632 for access. Canadians (and Rest-of-World) can dial 1.403.668.1579 or 1.416.628.7108 for access. Users of Gabcast can also record and publish audio content via Voice-over-IP (VoIP). Users of the Free World Dialup service can access Gabcast through our FWD(R) number - 702681. Notification of published audio content is sent via Really Simple Syndication (RSS). Subscribers to Gabcast "channels" may use their RSS reader of choice, iTunes/iPod - or any of the growing number of web-based RSS portals - to learn of newly added content. Subscribers may then enjoy the audio content using their media player of choice. In addition, users of Asterisk, the Asterisk Management Portal (AMP) or Asterisk@Home have easy access to Gabcast. Asterisk users need to make an edit to their dialplan to access the system; users of AMP or Asterisk@Home can simply create a "Trunk" and "Outbound Route" within the web-based administrative interface. Coalescent Systems has introduced a news service, Gabcast, that lets bloggers and anyone else that has something to say, create podcasts via their phone, or even voice over IP.
