At this special time of year, our thoughts naturally turn to podcasts. Romantic podcasts, of course! Here are a few podcasts that may help answer the question - What makes a Valentine's Day romantic? Flowers and Chocolate: If you're into the traditional (American) Valentine's Day, you'll need some flowers and some chocolate. But you don't want to enable the environment-wrecking, pesticide-laden cut-flower industry, and you don't want to buy chocolate made on the backs of child laborers. Check out the last two episodes of More Hip Than Hippy - the chocolate episode, and the "green" Valentine's Day show. Fine Wine: If you'd like to make a romantic evening with a good bottle of wine, check out Grape Radio's podcast. They've been around since the "early days" of podcasting, and have quite a few programs to choose from. Gourmet Dinner: Personal Chef Mark Tafoya, of ReMARKable Palate, talks with chef Donna Mintz about Persian food. But take special note of Jennifer's meditation at the end of the show, on the "sensual" nature of the "hand crafted valentine meal". Set the mood with music: Try Karin's Themed Song Podcasts, from Holland. A different, clever theme each show (like songs with the same title as a George Michael song.... another recent episode had songs with address themes -- and she talks about one of my favorite dutch treats, stroopwaffels!). This week: A love song podcast, of course! CommentsPost a comment |
