Wizzard Revenues Up, Losses Down

Podcast hosting service Wizzard Software has announced its second quarter 2008 financial results. They report that revenues are up, expenses are down and losses are decreasing:

Last fall, Podtech’s then VP Robert Scoble said “Reports of PodTech’s demise are bull####!”
Now, VentureBeat reports that podcasting startup PodTech has been purchased by ViewPartner, a communications technology company.  PodTech sold for under half a million dollars, a fraction of the $7.5 million invested in the company.

Wizzard Media Archives 118 Million Words For Search

Internet video startup Revision3, the home of Diggnation, XLR8R TV, Epic Fu and other popular video podcasts, has been making headlines since its founding in 2005.

The most recent headlines, though, have surrounded Revision3’s extended outage over Memorial Day weekend, and the way CEO Jim Louderback’s very publicly pointed the finger at anti-piracy firm MediaDefender as the cause for the outage.

Podcasting News’ Publisher Elisabeth McLaury Lewin caught up with Louderback, who answered questions about Revision3, how they plan to respond to the MediaDefender attack and his vision for the future of Internet media.



Chicago Area Podcast Network Growing

The Chicago Daily Herald reports that the the Chicago Area Podcasters Network has been growing since its inception in 2006, and is now an active, vibrant group.
The group started with 10 members and has grown to about 50.

LonelyGirl15 Creators Sign CBS Deal

EQAL, the studio behind faux-vlog shows LonelyGirl15 & KateModern, has signed a deal with CBS to create online content.
