SSL Intros Soundscape Plug-Ins

Get audio dsp cards at zZounds!

Thursday, November 09, 2006

Solid State Logic made several introductions as AES.

Solid State Logic released its Console EQ and Filters Plug-in for the Soundscape DSP platform.

SSL Software Product Manager Filip Saelen says; "This was a very logical first step for us. Soundscape customers have been asking for SSL plug-ins ever since the announcement of SSL's involvement with Soundscape came out and now Soundscape customers can seamlessly incorporate SSL plug-ins into their production workflow."

Equalizer Section

The Equalizer section is a classic, flexible four band parametric EQ. The plug-in includes two distinct SSL EQ flavours, one based on the SSL G series EQ and another based on the latest version of SSL's legendary E series EQ. The plug-in includes high and low frequency shelving bands (which can be switched to peaking curves) and two overlapping bands with adjustable Q.

EQ Graph

By default the SSL plug-in presents itself with the classic SSL console look and feel. For people who prefer to use a graphical representation of the EQ, an interactive display can be enabled with the EQ Graph button.

Filter Section

The Filter Section of Plug-in includes a 12dB/Octave low pass filter and an 18dB/Octave high pass filter. The filters can be placed before or after the Equalizer Section.

Compatibility

  • Soundscape Red 16/24/32
  • Soundscape 16/32
  • Mixpander 5/Mixpander 9
  • Mixtreme 192

Availability

A demo version of the plug-in will be available before the End October on the Soundscape website at http://www.soundscape-audio.de

Soundscape plug-ins can be purchased directly from the Soundscape web store at http://www.soundscape-audio.de .

Price: EURO 299/$375 excl. tax

EACM EQ|1

The Soundscape EACMT EQ|1 Plug-In is the first member of a brand-new plug-in family only available for Soundscape DSP based Audio Workstation platforms. Soundscape EACMT plug-ins model the physical circuits of high-end analogue originals to bring their sonic characterisitcs to the Soundscape no-latency DSP platform. The Electro Acoustical Coefficient Modelling (EACMT) engine was created by German developers Algorithmix GmbH, makers of highly acclaimed algorithms for Mastering EQ's and Restoration Tools. The Soundscape DSP based Audio workstation platform delivers the processing power required to run multiple instances of these complex 48BIT double precision algorithms.

SSL Software Product Manager Filip Saelen says; "Soundscape users now have exclusive access to a completely new approach to modelling analogue audio characteristics that provides impressive emulations of classic analogue hardware."

Equalizer Section

The Equalizer section is a classic, flexible four band parametric EQ. The plug-in has a distinct tone, based on one of the most acclaimed Console EQ Sections from the 80's. In this reincarnation however users have the added advantage of numeric setting display.

EQ Graph

By default the Soundscape EACMT EQ|1 Plug-In presents itself with the classic control based console styling and feel. For people who prefer to use a graphical representation of the EQ, an interactive EQ display can be enabled with the EQ Graph button.

Hands on control

The Soundscape EACMT Plug-In Family is operated via four innovative systems called; M-Touch, Rope-Tune, Quick-Fade, Quick-Type that combine mouse, keyboard and scroll wheel to provide improved hands on control.
