Edison Media On Why You Should Advertise In A Podcast

In April, we reported on Arbitron/Edison Media Research’s latest report on the podcast audience. 
At the time, we were struck by their stats for the podcast audience, which showed that the audience for audio podcasts grew 38% in the last year, and the audience for video podcasts grew 45%.

The audience for podcasts is way up, according to the latest research by Arbitron/Edison Media Research.
Their study, The Podcast Consumer Revealed, found that:

The audience for audio podcasts grew 38% in the last year;
The audience for video podcasts grew 45% in the last year;
About 30% of regular Internet users have downloaded a podcast;

While mainstream coverage may not reflect it yet, podcasting is rapidly moving towards mainstream adoption.
According to a new e-Marketer report, a January 2008 Arbitron-Edison Media Research study found that podcast use is exploding:

The podcast audience has grown nearly 40% in the last year.
Podcasting reaches 18% of the US population, up from 13% a year ago.
