Disney announced today that for the first time, the company will stream its full-length movies online.
The films will first air on ABC as part of the network’s weekly Wonderful World of Disney presentation on Saturday nights throughout summer 2008. The full-length films will then be available for free streaming online for the following week.

Disney has sold 125,000 digital copies of films through Apple Computer’s iTunes store in less than a week, generating $1 million, Disney chief executive Robert Iger said Tuesday. iTunes lets users purchase movies online that can be downloaded for viewing on a computer or on video iPods.

You won’t hear it from Apple, but an Apple Movie Store appears to be on its way.During an earnings conference call last week, Lions Gate Entertainment CEO Jon Feltheimer said that his company had a digital delivery deal in place with iTunes, and that it would launch some time before the end of this year.
