Dedicated Podcast Audience Up 300%

Podcasting continues to grow by leaps and bounds, with the total audience for podcasts increasing by 58% in under two years.

The dedicated podcast audience - those that download podcasts every day - has gone up 300% in the same time.



People Trading Traditional Media News Sources For New Media

New research shows that people are relentlessly moving from traditional media - including newspaper, radio & television - to Internet-based news sources.

In the last ten years, the percent of people getting their news from the Internet has tripled, while the radio and newspaper news audience has declined 14% and the television news audience has declined 9%!



US Broadband Penetration Jumps 17%, But Digital Divide Growing

55% of all adult Americans now have a high-speed internet connection at home, according to a May 2008 survey conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Project:

The percentage of Americans with broadband at home has grown from 47% in early 2007 and 42% in early 2005.

Pew Internet released an interesting report earlier this week that looks at Teens and Social Media. According to Pew, more teenagers than ever are creating content online.
