Tim Bourquin, creator of the New Media Expo, is thinking about quitting the tradeshow business.
He cites five reasons - reasons that he feels “threaten the very industry itself”:

Rob Greenlee, Microsoft Zune Podcast Programming Lead, has introduced a new Zune podcast, Zune Insider. It’s an audio and video podcast, co-hosted by Greenlee and Zune blogger Cesar Menendez.

PodCamp Philly, the second annual “unconference” style podcasting event, will be held Sept 6-7.
PodCamp Philly topics will include blogging, podcasting, video-blogs, videos and social networking.
Also, this year PodCamp Philly has teamed with SearchCamp Philly, a new unconference focused on helping small and medium sized businesses market themselves online.

PodCamps are a great opportunity to learn about podcasting and meet people involved in new media.
The events are user-organized conferences for “new media enthusiasts and professionals including bloggers, podcasters, YouTubers, social networkers, and anyone curious about new media.”
The first PodCamp was held September 8-10, 2006 in Boston, Massachusetts, but they are now being held worldwide.

Organizers have announced dates for PodCamp Arizona, being held November 1-2, 2008 at the University of Advanced Technology.
PodCamps are free events focusing on podcasting and new media that are organized and presented by attendees.
