Rocketboom has announced a big distribution and advertising deal with Sony Pictures, giving the daily video blog exposure and promotion across all of Sony’s IP universe: via PS/3, Bravia TV and Crackle.
We talked with Rocketboom creator Andrew Michael Baron about the deal, the future of Rocketboom and more.

Last fall, Podtech’s then VP Robert Scoble said “Reports of PodTech’s demise are bull####!”
Now, VentureBeat reports that podcasting startup PodTech has been purchased by ViewPartner, a communications technology company. PodTech sold for under half a million dollars, a fraction of the $7.5 million invested in the company.

Former Rocketboom host Amanda Congdon gets profiled in the New York Times, and somehow the NYT doesn’t even cough up a link to her new video blog, Sometimes Daily.
“It’s weird,” says Congdon.

TechCrunch published a controversial piece of linkbait over the Thanksgiving holiday on the “secret” strategies behind successful viral videos. Rocketboom and Blip.tv have announced a partnership to incorporate interactive advertising into the weekday video podcast. The result is more intrusive than some other Internet video ad types, but is an interesting new ad option.
