PodShow, a podcasting network founded by Adam Curry which has proven to be no stranger to controversy, is being accused of hijacking Rocketboom’s copyrighted video content.

Here’s what has Rocketboom concerned:

Rocketboom with PodShow ads
Podshow appears to be displaying Rocketboom’s content in violation of Rocketboom’s license agreement:

“Podshow is self-agrandizing by hotlinking Rocketboom into their player,” according to Rocketboom, “showcasing our video with their ads, giving the false impression that Rocketboom is part of the Podshow network and providing no link back to the Rocketboom site.”

Ze Frank echoes Rocketboom’s concerns in the latest episode of The Show, and provides a humorous introduction to Creative Commons licenses.Rocketboom is licensed under a Creative Commons license, the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 1.0 license. The license states that you are free to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work, and to make derivative works as long as you:

  • Provide attribution in the manner specified by the author or licensor;
